Our volunteers make up a vital arm at HNF. They help to reach out to our patients with a kind word of encouragement, a pick-me-up gift, or a day of fun and excitement outside the confines of their home.
If you are inspired to make a real contribution to our patients' lives, we welcome you to be a volunteer at HNF.
There are many ways you can help: you can befriend our patients, organise excursions or simply buy and deliver goodie bags to their homes. Check out the various volunteering programmes listed below and our calendar of past and upcoming events.
Meet Ian, our volunteer with a different story. A volunteer and donor from the Airline Pilot Association of Singapore, Ian has been running marathons since 2006. In 2013, he decided to make his training fun yet meaningful and came up with the idea of fundraising through fitness. With such a vision in mind, he embarked upon his campaign, ‘IRONPROJECT’ and raised an impressive amount of over $7,800 in aid of HNF and its patients.
I had always wanted to do a fundraising drive, so I started a blog in October 2012 to log my journey towards my first Ironman, pledging $3 for every hour of training I put in. My goal for ‘IRONPROJECT’ was to inspire people to take up a new sporting challenge, and also to take that small but significant step towards volunteerism and fundraising.
